Camp will take place from Friday night, February 20 until Sunday night, February 22. It's not a whole week, but won't it be cool to go to camp on the weekend?!
Just like our summer camp sessions, we will accept 36 campers (18 male and 18 female) at each weekend mini-camp. Each camper will have their own buddy, selected carefully from our well-trained buddy staff.
Campers will participate in activities similar to camp during the summer.
Applications:
Mini-Camp applications will be available via email or on this website on Monday, January 5, 2009.
There are 2 applications available on this website. Please be sure to complete the correct one:
**Mini-Camp Application for Returning Campers (For anyone who submitted an application for any of the 8 summer camp sessions during the summer of 2008).
**Mini-Camp Application for New Campers (For anyone who did not submit an application for any of the 8 summer camp sessions during the summer of 2008).
Applications must be returned either in person or in the mail. We cannot accept applications via fax or via email.
The application deadline for our mini-camp is Monday, February 2nd, but spaces will fill up VERY QUICKLY, so get your application in as soon as you can (after it is made available).
You will notice that the application for returning campers is much shorter than last year. We are only asking you to complete 3 easy pages, and then we will supplement the rest of the information from your 2008 summer camp application. Good news: We are not requiring a new notarization form, physician's statement, or teacher's statement. How about that?!
Acceptance:
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those persons who were either on our summer 2008 waiting list, or to those persons who did not attend the October 2008 mini-camp.
Cost:
The cost for our weekend mini-camp will be only $100. As always, limited scholarships are available for persons in need of financial assistance. Dont allow this to be a deterrent to applying for the mini-camp.
Age:
We do not establish specific age ranges for the mini-camps as we do for Camp I Am Special (generally ages 6-13) and Camp Promise (generally ages 14-40) over the summer. So, anyone between the ages of 6-40 is encouraged to apply. Please know, however, that we will separate campers by age in our cabins and in our daily groups. So, your son or daughter will still participate with people mostly in their own age range.
